QUINTA PITANGA
Quinta Pitanga takes its title from the original name of the Sacatar art colony on the island of Itaparica in Brazil, where the author spent two months in a writer’s residency program. The collection is divided into two parts: a larger cycle of poems about Brazil, created during a stay in the state of Bahia, and a shorter cycle inspired by a two-month journey through Morocco. Intertwining themes of travel and writing, the poems record the direct experience of being in new spaces, but also question the creative process and the writer’s crisis from a poetic perspective.
Originally published in 2013, the book was redesigned with an emphasis on simplicity and white space. The refined layout enhances readability while giving each poem greater clarity and presence.
